Ooh, so I cycled home with this lovely little (er, fairly large actually) parcel tied to the back of my bike today:
You see, today was payday. Dangerous, I know!
And inside the parcel, we find…
Stuff! Or, net (for froofing up slip/underskirt), lace (for neckline), wide elastic (for waistband of underskirt), zip, hooks & eyes, thin elastic (to attach bows to the buttons of my shoes), interfacing and pinking shears (is it sad that I’m inordinately excited to finally have my own pair of pinking shears? Yes, I thought so…) – oh, and me playing silly buggers with lace (for flounces):
See, I’m working the Marie Antoinette masquerade ball look. It’s not working, huh? Oh well… This lace isn’t quite as wide as I wanted, but it was the widest they had – I might get more and layer it if it isn’t OTT enough on its own – we shall see!
And the final thing in the lovely bag… Fabric fit or a Zombie Queen!
The teal is lovely, just what I wanted, though the pink isn’t quite as peachy as I was after, but it’s still going to work. I’m quite pleased – the threads look like much better matches now that I’m home than they did in the shop (or perhaps it’s the lack of food hysteria talking?). I also decided in the end not to get a lining as the only thing suitably slinky was 100% polyester, which would leave me sweating like a bitch, so I’m going to use the rest of my cotton lawn as there’s tonnes left and it’s much softer and more breatheable.
And considering how much I tend to dance at Halloween, this is A Good Thing (TM).
